Count days between two calendar dates
Date difference calculates the elapsed days between two selected calendar dates. Useful for scheduling, deadlines and trip planning.
Calculation method
Elapsed days = later calendar date − earlier calendar date, using consecutive calendar-day boundaries.
Worked example
From March 1, 2026 to March 10, 2026 is 9 elapsed days; counting both endpoint dates inclusively gives 10 dates.
What your result means
Decide whether you mean elapsed days or inclusive days. Business days are a different quantity because they can exclude weekends and holidays.
Tips for better calculations
Use Business Days when you want Monday–Friday counting instead of total calendar days.
Assumptions and limitations
The result is calendar-based; actual elapsed hours across a daylight-saving transition may not be 24 times the number of dates.
